Natachee’s is located on Main Street, next door to the Continental Club in mid-town Houston. The parking is free on the street and in the adjacent parking lot after 6:00 pm. They open at 8:00 am and remain open until 11:00 pm on the weekends.
This is a down-home spot where everyone is made to feel comfortable, especially famlies. As you enter there is a long bar to your right and loads of indoor seating throughout. Outdoor dining is king for all the kiddos and famlies. The patio consists of umbrella covered picnic benches, a huge sand pit, grassy areas and a stage for their live performers. We have danced with our daughter and our friends many a night at Natachee’s.
The food is tasty with options like fried pickles, chili cheese fries, salads, soups, sandwiches and burgers. All of the kid’s meals are served in a vintage tin lunch box which offer additional flavor to the dining adventure. Kid’s are offered freezer pops upon request. We get to Natachee’s early for their happy hour menu which offers great deals on food and their punches.
For the parents there is a full bar. Natachee’s signature punches are loads of fun and are much-needed on warm summer evenings. My favorite punch is The Downy Ball Punch which reminds me of a blue Long Island Iced Tea.
Finally, the entertainment tops off the entire Natachee’s experience. The bands and performers seem to belt out energetic oldies that gets everyone off their seats and dancing barefoot on the lawn.
Gather up the family and give this place a try. If it’s warm out, wear cool, comfy clothes and if you have kids who are walking, be prepared to have them deep in the sand pit.
